For anybody who doesn't read alt.music.filk, here's a post that
popped up last week from Julia Taylor and she asked me to pass it along, so
here it is:
>I am hereby announcing a house filk at my home in Mountlake Terrace, WA
>on November 23.
>
>TIME: I suggest the circle start around 2 pm. You should arrive earlier
>to get settled in, especially if we need to figure out what we're doing
>with your food contribution (see below) .
>
>FOOD: In spite of the advice against it, I'd still like to attempt a
>pot luck--as follows: We will break (yes break!) to eat dinner at 6:30
>pm. Before that we will only put out snacks, finger foods, and drink.
>Anything you need a fork and plate for will be put out during the dinner
>break. Therefore I strongly suggest that hot-food type contributions be
>dishes that 1) take kindly to reheating or 2) We bake or cook on site
>during the first part of the filking. (Note: Anyone in the kitchen will
>be able to hear the proceedings, don't worry.) I will be happy to
>refrigerate, freeze, bake, or reheat anything you bring. I will prepare
>some sort of hot food myself.
>
>CRASH SPACE: I have had one inquiry about crash space. Crash space will
>be available in the room where we filk (the only one with a carpet)
>There is a long padded bench that can sleep 2, and then there's always
>the floor. I also have an air mattress. Should the need arise, it will
>have to be coed.
>
>DIRECTIONS : My address is 23105 67th Place West, Mountlake Terrace WA,
>98043. (206) 775-3858.
>
>COMING FROM THE SOUTH ON NORTHBOUND I-5: Take exit #178 (Mountlake
>Terrace 236th) Turn left and cross over the freeway on the 236 bridge.
>Get in the right lane. Bear right (to 66th) at the island where the road
>splits shortly after the end of the bridge. Take the second left onto
>232nd, then the first right onto the cul-de-sac (67th Place) My house is
>in the righthand corner. It is blue with brick facades and a large
>concrete driveway.
>
>FROM THE NORTH ON SOUTHBOUND I-5: Take the 220th S (Mountlake Terrace)
>exit, #179. Turn right onto 220th. Go to the second light (66th) and
>turn left. Go about 1/2 mile and through the flashing red light (stop
>first!). Take the first right after the church (232nd), then the first
>right onto the cul-de-sac (67th Place) My house is in the righthand
>corner. It is blue with brick facades and a large concrete driveway.
>NOTE ABOUT PARKING: If you don't mind getting trapped, please park in my
>driveway. Its big and It can fit two cars across at the top as long as
>the person on the left is far enough over. Also, the cul-de-sac is
>small, please do not overcrowd it. If there seem to be a lot of cars,
>please park on 232nd or on 67th Avenue (road south from 232nd)
