filk con

Programming - well, the only "filk con" I've been to was this years con in Toronto. I enjoyed it.

I found the mini concerts to be a good way of showcaseing people without the requirement for long sets and daunting staging.

They had guitar workshops, a whole bunch of things I didn't get to attend and, my fav.. a rhythm workshop and performance anxiety workshop. Those two were worth the entire trip by themselves.

I'm looking for an excuse to get my bodhran, djambe and various noise things out of their bags.

Music. well, I can pick out notes with right hand slowly, read sheet music (treble clef) and have horrid timing - I'm still looking for a program that will allow me to compose by singing into a mike and transposing the results. In the meantime, I'll just keep humming and stumming.
