lyric's request: that Kinsey-scale Kanefsky

replyPhilosophical question (hey- Eastercon- I mean Norwes is coming up)- if it is ok to sing what are effectively pagan hymns at a filk (Lord of the Dance, pagan verisons, either tune), could I get away with singing Christian hymns of a certain type? (such as the originl Lord of the Dance, or for that matter Simple Gifts)?
If so, why is the first ok but not the second? I hope it's not because there's a attitude that the pagan hymn-filks aren't hymns to real deities/powers, and therefore it doesn't mean anything to sing them.

reply(part of what brought this up is because I found a mostly finished filk
of Blood Will Tell on the subject of Job, and I'd like to know I won't get glared at for singing it.
