reply This was the second new piece I did at Steve's filk today. This, as you might notice, isn't funny. Not even a little bit. As one person said after hearing this, "Oh, my God! Jeff's written ose!" Yeah, well....
Rain on the Window
Hello there. How've you been? It's nice to hear your voice. I wish I could be there, but life didn't give me the choice. It's raining here in Seattle - you're six states away. But enough of this depressing stuff, tell me how was your day? I think I'll survive the rain, although I'm not sure how. But wait a minute, it looks like it's stopped for now. I'm sorry, please go on, I did ask, "How was your day?" It's just that I'm afraid of what you're going to say. You might say you care for me. I wish that were true. But you're going to say you don't feel the way I feel for you. So it seems no matter what, I'll still be alone. Maybe it would just be best if I hung up the phone. I haven't felt this way since I don't remember when. I look out the window as it starts to rain again. This constant longing really is no way to live. For I can't have your love - it isn't yours to give. The rain falls on the roof, I watch it hit the ground. All I can think of now is you are not around. Rain runs down the window like it knows what I'm going through. Telling me that it's no use - I have to get over you.
