I have two notable goals for this year: improving tech support/changeover with respect to filk concerts, and working with the Programming folks to further enhance and diversify the daytime filk panel/workshop programming. I have also been discussing some other issues with higher authority, including a couple of concerns folks expressed after last year's con. I don't yet know who Friends of Filk may be bringing as Musical Guest this year, but will pass that news on as soon as I get it. OTOH, I *do* have one tentative piece of good news for the filk crowd: it looks as if there's a very good chance that the popular "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" event will be relocated to the Riverview Ballroom this year, thus relieving one of our major sources of friction over the past couple of years. This is NOT YET FINALIZED, but the concom appears very interested in giving "Whose Line" a larger space, and recognizes that Riverview may be the most realistic option. I'll welcome input and ideas from everyone--and I encourage you to get memberships ASAP if you haven't already. (We're at 500-some and counting, and there *is* the 1600-badge cap to think about.) More later....
