Chain letters on Filk List.

Please don't post this kind of Spam to the list.

This kind of junk-mail chain-letter hoax crap is a totally inappropriate use of this mail list.

If you get stuff like this, DO NOT pass it along without checking it out first. 99% of these "please pass along" things are garbage. They will die off if people exercise more critical judgement, and verify authenticity before passing ANYTHING along. (and even then, don't post it here unless it DIRECTLY relates to FILKING!) Most folks on this list have a brain and are capable of being rational thinking humans. Please people, USE those skills when you get e-mail like the one we just saw, don't get sucked in and just automatically forward stuff to everyone you know, you ARE smarter than that.

replyHere's a good site you can use to see if something is a hoax or urban legend or whatever.

 http://urbanlegends.miningco.com/msubnet.htm

There are a bunch of good links off this site. Create a group for them under the 'favorites' section in your browser & add them to the group. Then the next time you get garbage like this, check it out before passing it along.
