In fact, I suggested this when Harlock first "pitched" the idea to me, but as a Part II - part one being to come in with a pre-chosen song and show how to add harmony layers to it. Seasons of Love might be a good choice that way. Cat also makes an excellent point about showing the "evolution" from rough to mellifluous, as a means of encouraging people to try their wings. Another possibilty would be to analyze the harmonic structure of a round, where the harmonic choices have already been made, then progress to building our own harmony on a similar tune... I second the notion of using the "Workshop" format - schedule it as a 2-hr time block instead of 1-hr, along the lines of the writing workshops.
