Hi After reading Michelle's message, I aagree that the best thing to do is drop one feature concert. With the Heather show on Sunday morning, we already have 2 feature-length concerts. Do we really need three? I realize this means we don't get to hear as much of whoever the other feature concert is, theoretically. But they can always join the circles, or start a lobby filk. One 2-hour block (depending on how long the sets are) is too long for the mini-concerts. I always find myself zoning out after the first hour anyway. But if the only alternative is to schedule minis oppposite the feature, I'd rather have the one two-hour block. As for circles, there are two evil options. One is to have one huge circle, with many people who traveled long distances feeling that they a) never got a chance to sing and b) had to hear a lot of stuff they didn't like. The other option is to have two circles and take the risk that one of them will be smaller, or that it will lack the popular people who are in the other circle. Asking popular people to be responsiblb about it and to spread themselves between the two circles isn't a viable option, because then they don't get to hear each other, which is a bummer. Nevertheless, I vote for the two-circle option. I do want to sing, and I'd like to have a choice about what I hear, the circle format, etc. Aislinn Received on 06/06/00 This archive was generated by hypermail 2.2.0. |
