"The Paperboys" on 6/9 & More!

This is a very last minute gig, but it should be a lot of fun. Omar Torres played several songs with them in April, and he's a dynamite guitar player who brings an interesting Latin slant to the band. Given how late the news is, it shouldn't sell out, but I won't swear to this.

I'm copying Tom's message about the show below, as well as a copy of the WA schedule for the next couple of months. The band will also be going across S Canada / N America over to the East Coast this summer, and doing several shows in the BC area, plus a couple in Oregon. Check out their website for more information <www.paperboys.com>. With luck, their new CD will be out before the summer is over; the title is "Postcards".

Hi All,

Welcome to the Ceilidh Chronicle online, the official Paperboys newsletter on the web. For those of you who have never received this before The Ceilidh Chronicle will basically update you on the going ons of those rowdy Canadians. If you don't know how you got on our list you either were having too much fun to remember signing up or someone else signed up for you. If you wish to be removed just return this message with the subject "please remove" no questions asked. So now that we all know what is going on I'll skip the chit chat and get right to the point. The Paperboys and girls will be at the Showbox Theater in downtown Seattle this Friday June 9th with Special Guests Omar Torres and more. There are many selling features on the Showbox, starting with the huge dance floor, groovy lounges and great sight lines no matter where you stand in the club. Most of all though we want you to show up because it is a huge space (1000 capacity) and it would really suck if there weren't many people there, besides we have prepared a few surprises including a visit to some of our old material (please email us your requests for what you want to hear, simply by responding to this email with the subject "June 9 song list") We will also be coming down with a few friends to round out some of the jams. So now that we have begged and pleaded with you to come to our show I'll give you a brief rundown on what is going on with The Paperboys. Right now we are in the middle of recording some music for a movie being shot in Vancouver called "Lunch With Charles" We will be in the studio for the next couple of days and next week we will be doing some filming for the movie. That's right-we are now going to be movie stars. This is an independent Canadian/Hong Kong movie about a band on the road and a love affair between the band's manager and a Hong Kong entertainer. The band will be appearing as "Finnigans Take" and will be joined by punk rocker Biff Naked as our lead singer. We will keep you posted on release dates etc. In other news we are in the process of giving our web page a face lift and welcome your comments on how we can improve it.The address is www.paperboys.com This is also a good source for finding out all of our tour dates in Washington and all over North America. Well we hope you will join us this Friday for some Celto,Bluegrass,Latin,Roots Pop. The show promises to deliver a great time.

see you there
