filk / folk song circle - Victoria BC, June 22-24 weekend

Not a House Concert -
Pondside is hosting a weekend of music June 22 - 24.
Singers, musicians and songwriters are coming from Portland, Seattle and Vancouver to join together in Victoria.
This years circle is dedicated to Lloyd Landa who I had the good fortune to first meet at a filk convention in Toronto around 1997. His interest in Science Fiction combined with his fine musical talents to create award winning music in that genre with his musical partner Karen Linsley. He's gone but his memory and music live on.
At that same con, was Steve Dixon, a very talented musician - and the GOH for that convention. Steve's from Seattle and will be making the trek north to the Garden City of Victoria on Vancouver Island for our filk. Steve is my GOH this year - I'm always happy to make music with him.
I'm also going to be featuring Jim Layeux's new CD
"Red Dust" - let's call it the B.C. CD Release party

So -- anyone wandering by Victoria, BC who might be interested in sitting around making music, sharing some harmonies (tuning my harp) or beating on my djambe or bodhran -- you're welcome to join us that weekend. Some crash space available.
