Hi folks,
I'm passing on a message from Callie Hills about
Cat Faber's hernia surgery.
"She is currently at her parents, not the hospital, and will
be there indefinitely. She has a herniated disk in her back
and will be going in for surgery, on Monday, Aug 13th at
10:30am. They may keep her for a day or two but it's expected
she'll be back at her folks the middle of next week.
It is also expected that she will feel MUCH better, and be able
to be ambulatory again, within a few days after her surgery.
The injury has pinched a nerve and is causing weakness and numbness
on her right side. It also has her in an excruciating amount of
pain that's NOT being sufficiently alleviated by painkillers, and
the only semi-comfortable position is on her left side, which limits
her ability to type severely. She can read email OK, but responding
is extremely laborious. Email cards should be sent to:
cat at echoschildren.org - it would be nice if they would indicate,
response not required. Snail-mail cards can be sent to me, I will
take them to her folks' place (she has asked me not to give out
their contact info). My address is: 603 SE 48th Ave, Portland OR 97215 .
Further bulletins as further news develops.

Thus spake Callie.
