Cat Faber asked me to express her thanks for all the good wishes and concern that have been expressed during her recent medical difficulties.

I'm happy to report that the back surgery on Monday 8/13 went well, and she is now back on her feet, at least part-time, and feeling much better, though still weak from being bedridden for over two weeks. She continues to get stronger daily. She's also better able to read and respond to email now, so I suggest - and in fact request - that you forward further inquiries directly to her. The wedding is still planned for August 20th, in Portland. At this point it looks like she'll be able to be on her feet for the ceremony, which is a big relief to all concerned.
