replyThe four brands I would recommend looking into are Takamine, Yamaha, Sigma and Epiphone. Takamine and Yamaha are solid brands that have some fairly low end models. Sigma is Martin's low end version. I've only played one (Michael Longcor's) and it played well. Epiphone is Gibson's low end. replyreplyOne possibility I would suggest is that when you are ready to go look I could go with you. Jack Bell was right when he said that if you try to start out on a really cheap guitar it will be hard to play and you are less likely to stick with it. When we get together to return the recording gear I'll give you a catalog that you can peruse and get some price ideas from.
