Here are my thoughts on the subject. I do not mind recording the circle. However, the circle is there for the circle's sake and _not_ for the recording's sake. IF, you are recording a circle, then you must accept the low fidelity and situational noise of recording an open circle. The recording should not hamper anyone's participation or other actions around the circle. If the recording is causing "sh"ing and other "be careful" type stuff then it is interfering with the flow of the circle. Circle recordings are by their very nature not "Studio" or even "Live performance" recordings. It is polite to the other people in the circle to allow them to participate in their own way without the restrictions of the needs of a high quality recording.
