Something else we can possibly do

replyAfter the requests on this list for links to the song memorializing the OK city bombing, I asked Callie (who forwarded it along to Cat) for permission to send the link to local radio stations and see if we could coordinate having those stations play that song at a specific time. Both of them granted their permission.

I am about to send the request to a couple of the morning DJ's whom I usually listen to and see if we can start that sort of ball rolling.

This will (in my opinion) be a much larger gesture if we can get more stations to pick up this idea and go with it, so I am requesting that various folk send a message to your local radio personalities with the link

and ask them to see if it would be possible to play that song on the air on Tuesday, Sept 18, 2001 at 9 AM as a commemorative gesture.

I will be contacting both 101.5 and 96.5 (the two stations I listen to) and asking them to consider doing this. I suspect that having more people contact them as well would not hurt. Likewise if someone could post this to Rec.music.filk as well, that would be appreciated since I don't read usenet :)
