I don't know if it is true, but it is typical of the Israelis. Remember the bombing of Libya. The Libyans threatened our warships if replywe crossed their "Line of Death", in international waters. We ignored replythem and crossed it anyway. They launched missiles, which we misdirected to land in the sea, then fired back on the launch platforms. Muammar al-Qaddafi promised retaliation. A short while later, Americans died in the bombing of a West German dance club. Radio transmissions picked up by our intelligence services from the terrorists showed that Qaddafi was behind it. We bombed Libya. A few months later, we discover it was really Syrian terrorists. The radio transmissions were from Israeli agents. My guess is that they didn't think we'd bomb Syria, but wanted us to bomb _someone_. Filksinger Received on 09/16/01 This archive was generated by hypermail 2.2.0. |
