I am SO looking forward to a weekend with musical, like-minded people!! I'm sure I'll be singing silly little filk snippets this whole week in the machine shop and drive my classmates around the bend. Heh... good thing there are earplugs available in the tool crib for those poor mundanes...

I am mucho happy to hear that you have been having a great time, Julianna. I look forward to seeing you, and am most pleased to hear that stage fright is gone. Yea! This is going to be a great weekend!

I am a Filker,
I have inside me blood of Bards...

Sorry for the delay for those that were awaiting information -- I've been working out of town (back where I used to live) all last week and then away for a spectacular weekend on Orcas Island. Been laughing and singing so much my face is cracking from too much smiling :)

OK - Just confirming that The Filk Is ON at the House of Lights and Music! Douglas and I are eager to see you all and share song and laughter.

JT -- or Steve -- does someone have the e-mail address of that family in Olympia -- could you let them know...

So far I have heard confirmations from:

Shaddyr, Callie, Steve Dixon et al, and an Inquiry from Angi. Anyone else I'm missing that required crash space?

Anyone else coming?
Anyone coming that required special food?

We have guitars, piano, beds and cat. (Callie has booked the cat free zone)

I am herewith enclosing the directions so that those not familiar can find our location. Douglas and I are really looking forward to this and hope you are too.

Pondfilk will be back in Victoria in the Spring.

DIRECTIONS: From in town Olympia -
Get on Capitol Blvd southbound (assuming you're north of the brewery). Proceed to Cleveland Ave. There's a Safeway just off Capitol Blvd on Cleveland. If you get to the brewery, you went too far.
Turn left on Cleveland Ave. As you proceed on Cleveland it will bend left and turn into Yelm Highway. Pretty soon you'll see a YMCA on the left and come to a traffic light. This is Henderson Blvd. (Note: they're threatening construction on this route and may in fact be in process. If so, the detour will almost certainly bring you south on Henderson into this intersection. Turn left and follwo the rest of this.)

From Henderson Blvd. and Yelm Highway:
Proceed 2 miles East. You will pass three traffic lights. The third will be Wiggins Rd. Be on the lookout for a white fence with "WoodsMuir" on it. This is the entrace you want.
Turn left. This puts you on Donnelly Rd. This T-ends with Donnelly going right and Windemere turning left. Turn left. (You can get there by turning right, but that's longer.) Follow Windemere. The sixth house on the right is our humble abode, The House of Lights & Music. It is yellow with a 3' brick facia on the front.

From the North -
I-5 South to Exit 109 - College St./Martin Way (note the immediately previous exit is Marvin Rd., ~do not~ take that one)
From the ramp, right. This is Martin Way. Immmediately get in the left lane and into the left turn lane.

At the first light, turn left. This is College St. You will be heading south. Now go quite a ways... 3 & 1/2 miles. There will be a Safeway to your left and a traffic light as College intersects Yelm Highway. Turn right.

You will now be going West on Yelm Highway (away from Yelm). Pass two traffic lights (the first is Corporate Park Loop, the second is Normandy). Now watch on your right for a white fence labeled "Woodsmuir". Turn right immediately before the fence.

From the South -
I-5 North to Exit 101 - Airdustrial Way. From the ramp, turn right on Airdustrial Way. Proceed almost 2 miles on Airdustrial Way SE. It will T end on Henderson Blvd SE.
Turn left. Proceed North on Henderson Blvd SE for just under 1.5 miles. You will come to a traffic signal. This is Yelm Highway.
Turn right. Follow the directions above from the Yelm Highway/Henderson Blvd intersection.

Looking forward to seeing you all again -- WARNING... my stagefright is now gone
