replyI am most happy to oblige. (Someone who wants to hear about my life in song... oOoOoOoooo) I was thinking about the difference between folk and filk and I understand that technically speaking it's not really filk - but I can't think of anyone else I know (other than my fellow classmates and my instructor, who BTW, thought it was hysterical) who would be interested in these kinds of songs. I've always enjoyed that kind of music - heh. As a child one of my favorites was "I've been working on the railroad", so perhaps that should have been a telling point for me... ***

Hi Of course we want more. At least I do. If someone else on the list protests, you can send them to me privately. :) Truthfully (not to be too academic about it) songs like this are the "real" folk songs of today. And I for one am completely interested in songs about people's work, their lives at work, their problems at work, what they do at work, etc. This is why I so adore songs like "Do It Yourself", "Little Computing Machine", all the aviation songs (of which I have a fair collection), railroader songs, spinning songs--you name it, if it's about work I'll enjoy listening to it. I guess it's part of my lifelong quest to understand how anyone could want to be anything besides a geneticist. :) Good luck in your endeavors!
Anne
