Hi I've kept out of this thread for a bit...but my eye caught the word "bribe" We amateur behaviorists call them "rewards". Good behavior encouragement requires that you know a person's most valued behavior and his most valued reward. My answers: Most valued behavior (the one I want to be known for, the one I try most desperately to practice) Consistency, persistence, perserverance, Most valued rewards: Recognition (of my pet behavior) increased responsibilities, Bribe example PROGRAMMING HERO Hi Anne, we'd like to invite you to NoCon 1; we understand you're a faithful SeedCon attendee and like participating in programming. I don't know what we can offer you in the way of time... Last doesn't matter. He's given me my reward. I'll do what ever PH asks for. No cost to him or the con. So......... Other examples? What is YOUR most valued behavior? Your most valued bribe? Programming chairs; What behavior do you value most in guests? What rewards can you offer? I'd be interested to know... One limit though. No finger pointing, no looking back. Just have some fun with it. Anne On Thu, 15 Nov 2001, Warrl wrote:
