[filk] Forthcoming 9/11 Songbook

Production is presently underway on SEPTEMBER 11, 2001: A MEMORIAL SONGBOOK, a collection of songs from the filk community in response to the events of that day. The book is being published by MASSFILC with assistance from NESFA, under the editorship of Gary McGath.

Retail price for the book will be $10/US, with all proceeds going to the Families of Freedom scholarship fund (http://www.familiesoffreedom.org). In the case of dealer or other indirect sales, all funds collected by MASSFILC go to the fund. Qualified dealers may order copies in bulk at $7/US each (the lower-than-normal discount applies since the project is a fund-raiser). Gary McGath (gmcgath at REMOVETHISmcgath.com) is accepting dealer inquiries now; information on individual orders will accompany the final publication announcement.

The songbook is expected to be available for sale at GaFilk and subsequent conventions.

I have two motives for mentioning this: one is the obvious charitable reason; the other is that I have a song in the collection ("You Can't Give Up the Sky").
