I know I'm only a lurker, but I didn't see anything horrific about your request...Okay, you might have said Please, but you stated your need, the date and the parameters and assured anyone interested that they wouldn't have to pay to attend. What's impolite about that?

I'd really like to know--I'm intending to do a little recruiting for Orycon 24's Opening Ceremonies (it's a musical!) later on, and I don't want to commit a faux paux!
