Date: Sun, 10 Feb 2002 21:17:55 -0800 The Washingtonians (the choir with a sense of humor and the choir I sing with) will be turning serious for one night only on the 16th of February (Saturday) at 8 p.m. at St. Mark's Cathedral in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. The program will include Frank Martin's Mass for Double Choir, Barber's Adagio for Strings (Agnus Dei), and American folk songs including "Shenandoah", "Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair" and "The Water is Wide" among others. Tickets can be bought on-line at Ticketwindow at the following URL: http://www.ticketwindowonline.com/shows/washingtonians.htm If you would like to hear a preview, on Monday, February 11th, the Washingtonians will be appearing on "Live! by George" on KING-FM, 98.1 in Seattle. The show will also be broadcast in RealAudio, which you can access through their website at http://www.king.org. The Martin Mass for Double Choir is really a treat if you haven't heard this before, so if you are even slightly interested, please come!
