[filk] Re: Cyberia strategy is a go! (fwd)

Hi, guys!

I have been working with Dr. Richard Kirby on a project called BrainSeeds, whose details I will furnish to anyone who wants them. But Dr. Kirby has some ideas about how to market filk...we should check this out.

I met Dr. Kirby at rustycon where he spoke at closing ceremonies. He is a theologian and a scholar of science fiction, very interested in making a better connection between people who develop technology/social programs and the science fiction community. My job with his institute is to provide a revenue for this connection--hence the project tentatively entitled BrainSeeds. Dr. Kirby is the author of several books, including Temples of Tomorrow, and a very dynamic speaker--quite a lot of fun to work with. I'm hoping he can help provide a venue for filk music to help bring it into the mainstream--preferably without losing its unique character.

Hello Anne,

When I hear your phrase, '15 or more excellent artists in the Northwest, looking for a venue...' I do think cyber-venue. And my newgenius.com science fiction product division and my aesthetics product division etc. would be glad to offer hospitality and free marketing to these folks. In fact if they would look at my Advertising division, they will see some ways I can offer a service to help them market themselves with pioneering ethical advertising.

Hope all's well...let me know.
Joy of the Lord,

Richard
