[filk] filk and v-con

replyHey. I just got a very cool e-mail from Palle, the guy who is running V-con this year. I told him that I was interested in seeing some filk at V-con and could they give us a room, etc. So he wrote back and asked whay I needed and i told him a room not too near the noise where we could put people and instruments - and perferably permission to remain open to the wee hours of the night.

So, he told me that there WILL be filk space at V-con. Isn't that cool?

I also told him they should think about actually inviting a filk GoH since it would likely be a draw for V-con. And he said that they've asked Heather Alexander in the past, but Anglicon is always around the same time, so it doesn't work out. And this year, when they went and changed the con to October - so did Anglicon. So, this is actually a *good* thing - they *thought* about it. Huh. And here I thought that Filk was DEAD in BC. So I told him they should ask Echo's Children, but it's kinda late in the game for that. But mebbe I planted a seed for the future, who knows?

Just for curiosity's sake, how many people would be willing to come up for V-con if there was a filk GoH? Would it be worthwhile? I mean, your money is worth more up here, so I'm thinking that's a plus. Any thoughts?
