[filk] HOUSEFILK: AUG 24th Outhouse In The Woods

From: Rhainy <RhainyCarter at attbi.com>
Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 11:42:29 -0700

Greetings All,

Ok, by the various responses I did receive, the date that seemed best is going to be AUG 24th.

PLEASE Note: 1) IF Anyone has any specific requests/needs/wishes, please let me know ASAP, so we can do our best to take care of them. 2) Towards the end of the post, there is an inquiry about the Water Slides/Beach!

OK...Sooooo, here goes.....

Everyone is welcome, kids encouraged to come :-)

PLEASE RSVP so we can plan accordingly :o)

ADDRESS: 5001 Cedar Street

                    Birch Bay, WA

<Directions at the end for ease of printing>

Phone: (360) 371-8540

Time: Any time after 11AM through Whenever we give up.....<G>

**For those wishing to drive up on Friday evening, we will set our tent up or, you can set yours up, or crash on the deck/in the house.

Eats: We will provide Mexican Buffet style eats, including Vegetarian <though I am not sure if it will qualify as Totally Vegan> foodstuffs. I will have a very good 15 bean soup that has no animal products that I know of. <I make it myself and only use spices and beans>

**We also have a tabletop gas BBQ for those who wish to use it, we will provide the propane.

Drinks: Misc. Flavours of Shasta, Plus requested Name Brand Sodas, coffee, tea, and various available juices.

***NOTICE***Please Insert Requests for favourite Sodas in RSVP ***NOTICE***

Snackables: Chips, cookies, veggies and various other interesting items <Requests gladly considered>

Camping: We have room enough for a few good sized tents on the lot, there will also be plenty of room on the deck after the filking ends.

Seating: We will be renting folding chairs, so it is veyr important I know how many folks are coming. ALSO, if you have your own chair, that is portable, feel free to bring it along.

Now comes the time you can remind me if I have forgotten anything. <G>

Now, on to the Water Slides question:

I checked with the BB Water Slides, and they have a group rate for 10 or more people. The regular entry for people over 6 y/o, is $12.95 each, if you are going to get wet, $8.00 if you are going to *view Only*. If we all wanted to take a trip to the slides, and we have enough people, the entry is only $10.00 each. There is a HUMUNGOUS Hot Tub, for those not into the slides themselves as well as a nice pool, with IIRC about a 5 ft deep section.

We also have the Bay, which is a less than 2 block walk. The only thing with the beach<bay> is that coming back, there is a Very Steep <but also very short> hill.

SO, my main question I suppose is: Who would be interested in going to the Water Slides before the filking <if at all> or to the beach depending upon the tide?

Small note here: The bay is great, but at low tide you have to walk about 1/2 mile OUT to get to the water <G>

Or does everyone want to not even worry about the water and just visit and filk?

Now, everyone tell me if I have forgotten anything?

**WARNING WARNING** Please Remember we are a critter household, but they will all be confined as needed to keep them out of the main part of the house, and we also will be cleaning to make the house as *Critter Free* as possible, along with running our HEPA while folks are here.

Blessings,
Rhainy, Larry and Devon
