The venue is the Tractor Tavern, one of the main sites for this kind of music. They have a wide range of drinks, a bit of food, a new coat check, and parking is free in the neighborhood. Sitting is all but non-existent on Friday and Saturday, but they do put out chairs for most weeknight shows. I would strongly suggest getting tickets in advance for all of these shows, and I know it's required for the Saturday "Paperboys" show. Doors usually open an hour before the show starts. 5213 Ballard Avenue NW, Seattle, WA 98107 Music Info line: (206) 789-3599 www.tractortavern.com

And if you're really into Bluegrass music, or love impromptu jam sessions, check out Wintergrass in Tacoma this coming weekend. Still in its first few years as a festival, it's drawing folks from all over North America for a full week of classes, and then a non-stop weekend of performances and folks jamming in every nook and cranny well into the wee hours. Check out www.wintergrass.com for more information. The tickets may sound a bit pricy, but if you stop and think about how much music you are getting in a full day, and by some well known names in the genre, it's still a good deal.
